Privacy Policy

RateMyPlate collects minimal data to provide our AI food roasting service:

• Food photos you upload for roasting. Images are processed by our AI and stored on Cloudinary CDN for display on the leaderboard and permalinks.
• Language preference stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so we remember your choice.
• Basic analytics via PostHog to understand how the app is used (page views, feature usage). No personal identifiers are collected.
• AI-generated roasts and scores are stored in our database alongside the uploaded image for leaderboard and sharing features.

• No account creation or login required
• No names, emails, or personal contact information
• No location data or GPS coordinates
• No payment or financial information
• No facial recognition or biometric data from food photos

When you upload a food photo, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis and roast generation. The photo is also uploaded to Cloudinary for CDN hosting. Optionally, a “Michelin star” parody image may be generated via Replicate's AI. Your original photo is not shared with any other third parties.

We use browser localStorage to remember your language preference. PostHog analytics may set cookies for anonymous usage tracking. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Roast results and images are retained indefinitely for leaderboard and sharing features. If you would like your data removed, please contact us and we will delete your roast entries and associated images.
